Standard client with Data directory on network

Hello,

I would like to know if there are any issues with placing the Data directory on a network drive? I've heard that IBM does not support this setup but it seems to work fine with 6.5.4. I know that the addition of Eclipse to the 8 client may change things.

Are there any user specific settings saved in Eclipse's framework directory? If so, is there any way to tell the Notes client to read the framework directory from a network drive instead of the local drive through a configuration file of some sort?
